The 15 Worst Movies of 2015
Later this week, we'll reveal our final ranking of 2015's best movies—a fairly impressive group overall. First, however, it's time to explore the films that achieved something a bit more dubious: the year's worst reviews. Below, we rank 2015's lowest-scoring films (among those releases receiving at least 7 reviews from professional critics).
Spotlight—this year's apparent frontrunner for the best picture Oscar—becomes even more of an artistic accomplishment when you realize that writer-director Tom McCarthy's previous film was this dreadful comedic fantasy starring Adam Sandler as a shoe repairman who discovers that he has the ability to step into the lives of his customers—yes, by literally walking in their shoes. It's offensive on multiple levels.
"The Cobbler is almost fascinatingly awful enough to recommend. If one subscribes to the theory that you can learn as much from a bad movie as from a good one, this one’s a master class in what not to do." — Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com
