10 Films to See in February
The shortest month of the year is typically an uninspiring one at the cineplex. But this February is not without its intriguing releases, including a well-reviewed new horror film from Key & Peele's Jordan Peele, one of the best documentaries in recent memory, the year's only Polish vampire musical (so far), an Oscar-nominated animated tale, and sequels to recent successes like John Wick and The LEGO Movie.
One of the five nominees for best animated feature at this year’s Academy Awards, this oddly titled movie tells the story of Zucchini, who, after the sudden death of his mother, struggles to find his place amongst the other orphans at his new foster home. Adapted by Céline Sciamma (Girlhood) from Gilles Paris’ novel and directed by Claude Barras, this stop-motion tale offers a sensitive look at childhood. The French-Swiss production, originally presented in French, features a new English-language vocal cast led by Will Forte, Nick Offerman, Ellen Page, and Amy Sedaris.
