10 Films to See in February
The shortest month of the year is typically an uninspiring one at the cineplex. But this February is not without its intriguing releases, including a well-reviewed new horror film from Key & Peele's Jordan Peele, one of the best documentaries in recent memory, the year's only Polish vampire musical (so far), an Oscar-nominated animated tale, and sequels to recent successes like John Wick and The LEGO Movie.
Like her previous film, Belle, director Amma Asante’s latest is a true story. Based on Susan William’s book Colour Bar, the film chronicles the interracial romance of Seretse Khama (David Oyelowo), a Prince of Bechuanaland (now Botswana), and Ruth Williams (Rosamund Pike). Solid early reviews have praised the chemistry between Oyelowo and Pike, as well as the film’s heartfelt and direct approach to its story.
