Spring TV Preview: The 30 Most-Anticipated Shows
Does TV save its best shows for the end of its season? The answer may be yes, given that the next few months will see the returns of acclaimed programs like The Americans, Game of Thrones, Veep, and Catastrophe. There are also some promising newcomers headed to the small screen in the coming weeks, including several Netflix comedies, the latest from Shonda Rhimes, and a drama produced by Steven Soderbergh.
Below, we highlight 30 intriguing shows scheduled to debut between now and early May, listed in order by premiere date. (For information on other upcoming TV debuts, visit our TV Premiere Calendar.)
The first Netflix Marvel series to get a second season, Daredevil returns with a few changes, including a showrunner swap (with Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez taking over for Steven S. DeKnight). The addition that has fans most excited, though, is the arrival of vigilante The Punisher/Frank Castle, played by The Walking Dead vet Jon Bernthal. Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) will also join the cast (as Elektra), while Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn will return along with Charlie Cox's Daredevil.
