Movie debuts September 8 on Disney+
Disney's latest "live-action" remake may be exclusive to the small screen (specifically, Disney+) but it features some big names. The film finds director Robert Zemeckis reuniting with his Polar Express and Forrest Gump star Tom Hanks, who plays Geppetto alongside Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the voice of Pinocchio (who is otherwise animated), Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key as "Honest" John, Luke Evans as The Coachman, and Lorraine Bracco as a new character. It's the first of two Pinocchio remakes due in 2022; the other, a stop-motion-animated feature from Guillermo del Toro, will stream on Netflix at some point this fall. We're not expecting either one to top the Metascore of Disney's first Pinocchio film.
