Drama series debuts October 2 on AMC
A series adaptation of the Anne Rice novel that was previously turned into a 1994 movie, this Interview comes from Perry Mason's Rolin Jones. Sam Reid stars as the vampire Lestat (the role played by Tom Cruise in the film), while Game of Thrones vet Jacob Anderson plays Louis (aka the Brad Pitt role), Eric Bogosian takes on the role of journalist Daniel Molloy (that was Christian Slater in the movie), and future Avatar sequels star Bailey Bass portrays Claudia (the Kirsten Dunst role). GoT's Alan Taylor directs the opener.
Interview was just renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere (following positive early reviews), and you can expect many more Anne Rice adaptations in the future: AMC has acquired rights to 18 of the author's books (in the Mayfair Witches series in addition to the Vampire Chronicles franchise), so more series and films will follow under the guidance of Breaking Bad producer Mark Johnson at a rate of 1-2 new titles per year.
