What to Watch in October: 22 Notable TV Shows & Streaming Movies
The month ahead will bring the highly anticipated return of HBO hit Succession, Denis Villeneuve's long-delayed Dune movie, a prequel to The Sopranos, and (unsurprisingly) a lot of horror. In the gallery on this page, our editors have selected the most interesting TV and movie titles debuting at home in the next month, listed in order by premiere date.
Horror series debuts October 15 on Syfy
TV is lousy with zombie shows, but this Syfy original aims to copy not from them but from George A. Romero's 1985 movie, though it doesn't actually seem to have a whole lot to do with that film. More homage than remake, the comedic 10-episode series finds a group of six strangers battling to survive the first 24 hours of a zombie invasion. The adaptation comes from Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, whose previous credits came mainly from Disney Channel and MTV shows.
