Most Anticipated Video Games of 2016, Part 2: New IP and Indie Releases
Earlier this week, we previewed the most-anticipated videogame sequels and remakes coming in 2016. Now, it's time to look at a second batch of games that may be even more important to the future of gaming: brand-new IP. These newcomers may not yet have the name recognition that the established franchises have earned, but will hopefully bring something fresh and original to game consoles (and PCs) this year.
Mighty No. 9 isn't the only delayed project from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune due in 2016. The mysterious ReCore (which also comes from some of the developers behind Metroid Prime and features a story by Halo and Destiny co-creator Joseph Staten) is an action-adventure sci-fi game centering on a female protagonist who must save humanity. She has the help of a companion in the form of a glowing blue orb, or core, that can be inserted inside a variety of robot types (including a dog and a humanoid) to bring them to life.
