Monkey movies are making a comeback.
With two big-time movies starring primates—Kong: Skull Island and War for the Planet of the Apes—bowing in 2017, we thought it was time to rank all of the monkey movies of the past 25 years by Metascore.
After poachers infringe on Joe—a 15-foot-tall gorilla—and his peaceful sanctuary, Jill Young (Charlize Theron) and zoologist Gregg O’Hara (Bill Paxton) help rescue the monkey.
The Tampa Bay Times said this 1998 film was “designed only to pass some time in a theater.”
