Drama series debuts May 4 on Netflix
While Bridgerton itself won't return until the end of this year at the earliest (it just finished filming its third season), the Shonda Rhimes-produced steamy costume drama will get its first spinoff this month. Actually a prequel series, Queen Charlotte centers on a younger version of the titular character, played here by India Amarteifio (Sex Education)—though Bridgerton's older Charlotte (played again by Golda Rosheuvel) will also appear. Rhimes is also the credited creator of the six-episode series, which is directed in its entirety by Shondaland veteran Tom Verica and has received fairly good early reviews.
