What to Watch in May: 28 Most-Anticipated TV Shows & Streaming Movies
The month ahead will bring animated Star Wars and Marvel shows, a new Tina Fey comedy, the returns of Master of None and Mythic Quest, and more. In the gallery above, our editors have selected the most interesting TV and movie titles debuting at home in the next month, listed in order by premiere date.
Season 2 debuts May 7 on Apple TV+. You don't need to be a gamer to appreciate the charms of Apple's workplace comedy, which is set in the offices of a game development studio responsible for the titular MMORPG. (You also don't need to be a fan of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which shares writers, producers, and star Rob McElhenney with Mythic Quest; the latter is a bit warmer and less caustic.) This nine-episode second season—which follows last month's pandemic special (and a previous pandemic special that streamed a year ago)—will have a lot less of co-star F. Murray Abraham due to COVID restrictions, but the rest of the gang will be back in the office to work on a new expansion for their game to follow Raven's Banquet (which, in turn, has been stripped from the title of the TV series).
