Making their feature directing debut with this mockumentary, Molly Gordon (recently seen as Carmy’s love interest Claire in season 2 of The Bear) and Nick Lieberman celebrate and send up the teachers and kids at a summer performing arts camp in upstate New York called AdirondACTS. When camp founder Joan (Amy Sedaris) falls into a coma, instructors Rebecca-Diane (Gordon) and Amos (Ben Platt) join forces to pull off an original musical in hopes of saving the camp. Aiding (and at times hindering) their attempt to rescue the camp are Joan’s tech-bro son Troy (Jimmy Tatro of American Vandal), dance teacher Clive (Nathan Lee Graham), costumer Gigi (Owen Thiele), and The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri as an inexperienced new counselor. Some of the standouts in the cast of campers (the film won the US Dramatic Special Jury Award: Ensemble at this year’s Sundance Film Festival) include Bailee Bonick, Donovan Colan, and Alexander Bello.
