Musical comedy series debuts July 16 on Apple TV+
Created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (the writers of Despicable Me) and produced by SNL's Lorne Michaels, this Apple musical parody series stars Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key as a couple on a backpacking trip who stumble upon a town in which all of the residents believe that they are living inside a classic movie musical. (Yes, like Brigadoon.) Unfortunately for the duo (but fortunately for us?), they find themselves trapped in the town until they are able to discover "true love"—which appears to be doable in about six episodes' worth of time. Expect plenty of fully choreographed musical numbers featuring original songs written by Paul (whose previous musical experience includes adapting his film Bubble Boy into a stage musical)). Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Fred Armisen, and Jane Krakowski also star, while Martin Short guests, and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, A Series of Unfortunate Events) directs multiple episodes.
