Written and directed Israeli filmmaker Eran Kolirin (The Band's Visit), this adaptation of Palestinian author Sayed Kashua’s novel tells the story of Sami (Alex Bakri) a Palestinian-born Israeli citizen living in Jerusalem who returns to the Arab village where he grew up to attend his brother’s wedding. After the wedding finishes, Sami, his wife (Juna Suleiman), and young son are trapped in his hometown by an Israeli military lockdown. In 2021, this gently satirical, deadpan comedy-drama won nine Ophir Awards (Israel's Academy Awards) including Best Film, Director, Actor and Actress.
