The third standalone Ant-Man film begins Phase Five of the MCU. Phase Four included a major expansion into TV with WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye and others bridging the film releases (only four of the seven films—Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever—earned green Metascores) and introducing new characters, including the main villain of the Multiverse Saga (Phase Four, Five, and Six collectively), Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). For his third time at the MCU helm, director Peyton Reed takes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) into the Quantum Realm where they come face to face with Kang (which version of Kang we do not know). Will Ant-Man survive this showdown or will he once again be stuck in the Quantum Realm?
