Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames

While some of the most-anticipated games originally expected this year have—no surprise here—been delayed into 2018, the fall months will still bring plenty of options. Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of 2017.

57 Sonic Forces

This year's second Sonic game is the opposite of the first. While summer's well-received Sonic Mania was a nostalgic, 2D throwback, the upcoming Sonic Forces will attempt to do what recent Sonic titles failed to accomplish: provide a solid 3D outing for the beloved, 25-year-old hedgehog. Like 2011's Sonic Generations, the new platformer will actually blend both 2D ("Classic") and 3D ("Modern") gameplay. One new twist is a third gameplay mode that offers the ability to create and play as your own custom character.
