Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of the year. Games without official release dates (like this week's new Early Access title Divinity: Original Sin 2) are omitted, since they may not arrive until 2017.
Available only on the newest generation of consoles (and only for players who already have all other previously released content), Destiny's fourth and presumably final major expansion adds new weapons, new events, new strikes, a trio of multiplayer maps, and new areas including The Plaguelands (a new zone on Earth) and Felwinter Peak (a new social space), all of which tie into a story about the last remaining Iron Lord (Lord Saladin) and enemy race The Fallen. Oddly enough, the design of the new spaces and new gear was heavily influenced by HBO's Game of Thrones. Haven't yet jumped into the world of Destiny? The original game and all four expansions (including Rise of Iron) will be bundled into Destiny: The Collection, also available next week.
