The Most-Anticipated Videogames Coming This Fall
Don't be too sad that summer's ending: It just means that the year's biggest videogames are about to start rolling out over the coming weeks. In the gallery above, we preview this fall's most-anticipated game releases headed to every console (and PC), from Red Dead Redemption 2 to a bunch of games that aren't Red Dead Redemption 2.
Out October 19 November 20 for PC/PS4/XB1. Despite that title, this is the 16th game in EA's first-person shooter franchise. While 2016's similarly misnamed (though quite good) Battlefield 1 was set during the first World War, V takes place during WWII—the first time the franchise has depicted that war since Battlefield 1943 in 2009.
Once again developed by DICE, the new game features large land, sea, and air battles, with a greater emphasis on squad customization and more realistic combat animations. (Just don't expect a historically accurate depiction of the war.) Game modes include a return of Battlefield 1's "War Stories" and "Operations" modes, a new four-player co-op as well as a multiplayer paratrooper mode, and—unavoidably—a battle royale mode. Despite early reports to the contrary, V will not have loot boxes.
