The Most-Anticipated Videogames Coming This Fall
Don't be too sad that summer's ending: It just means that the year's biggest videogames are about to start rolling out over the coming weeks. In the gallery above, we preview this fall's most-anticipated game releases headed to every console (and PC), from Red Dead Redemption 2 to a bunch of games that aren't Red Dead Redemption 2.
Out October 5 for PC/PS4/XB1. Going back even further in time than last year's Assassin's Creed Origins, the latest AC title is set in ancient Greece in 431 B.C., during the Peloponnesian War. You'll play as a mercenary, though you'll have a choice of gender (be either Alexios or Kassandra, who get the same story and abilities but feature different voice actors) as well as which side (Sparta or Athens) to fight for.
One major change from prior games in the franchise is that Odyssey appears to be embracing the RPG format. (Think Mass Effect.) You'll be presented with branching dialogue options throughout the game, with your choices affecting how the story plays out. (Among the people you'll get to talk to are potential love interests, plus Socrates.) And there's a major emphasis on naval combat, reminiscent of AC4: Black Flag.
