Joel and Ethan Coen’s 17th movie, Hail, Caesar!, was recently released, and—SHOCKER—it’s getting pretty darn good reviews. So good that it’s one of their 10 best films, according to top critics. And that got us thinking, “What is the best Coen brothers flick ever?”
Now, using Metacritic’s unique scoring system, we’ve found the answer to that very question.
Some of these rankings might be downright surprising. (We’re talking to you, Big Lebowski fans.) But more importantly, which classic Coen brothers flick made it to No. 1?
The Big Lebowski has become such a beloved classic that, in 2014, the Library of Congress added it to the National Film Registry. What’s more, fans of the cherished film can celebrate their love for The Dude at the annual Lebowski Fest in Louisville, Kentucky.
