Every Coen Brothers Movie, Ranked
Joel and Ethan Coen’s 17th movie, Hail, Caesar!, was recently released, and—SHOCKER—it’s getting pretty darn good reviews. So good that it’s one of their 10 best films, according to top critics. And that got us thinking, “What is the best Coen brothers flick ever?”
Now, using Metacritic’s unique scoring system, we’ve found the answer to that very question.
Some of these rankings might be downright surprising. (We’re talking to you, Big Lebowski fans.) But more importantly, which classic Coen brothers flick made it to No. 1?
This 2003 film would’ve been another generic romantic comedy without the Coen brothers’ touch. Thankfully, Joel and Ethan add their signature satirical style to this screwball comedy led by George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
"Tight as a drum, glamorous and exquisitely funny, this one should earn them (Coens) enough cash to make five more offbeat minor masterpieces like The Man Who Wasn't There -- and the Coens deserve that as much as we do." —Damon Wise, Empire
