Documentarian Alex Gibney branched out into scripted entertainment this year by directing (in part) and producing this 10-episode Hulu miniseries, which also marks the streaming service's latest foray into prestige television territory. Adapted from Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer-winning book by Dan Futterman (Capote), Tower portrays the events leading up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks—concentrating on the failure by both the FBI and CIA to prevent them.
