Best Star Wars Videogames of the Last 20 Years
Videogames based on movies often get a bad rap, but those based on the Star Wars universe have largely bucked the trend. Fans are spoiled for choice—there’s a wide selection of excellent titles across a number of genres. Here are the 25 best Star Wars games from the last two decades, as rated by the critics (and our unique Metascore).
Note: For the purposes of this list, we excluded Star Wars pinball titles and games with fewer than seven reviews. (And if a game was released on more than one platform, we included the version that received the largest number of reviews from critics.)
(tied for #15) This humorous LucasArts compliation includes both Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, updated with previously unplayed levels and missions, a new Arcade Mode and more.
Though Game Informer praises the game’s “cool minor additions” -- such as being able to play as any of 60 characters in the Star Wars universe -- its review slams the core gameplay as “one big retread.” Still, the review adds, “for diehard fans, this is the definitive LEGO Star Wars game.”
