(#4) When it was originally released for PS4 in 2018, Sony's God of War reboot was heralded as one of the best games of that year (trailing only Red Dead Redemption 2). In January of this year, the game was ported to a different platform (PC) for the first time—indeed, it was the first time that any game in the series appeared on a non-Sony platform. Actually only part reboot and also part sequel to 2010's God of War III, this God of War returns series protagonist Kratos (as a father!) but is set in the world of Norse legends rather than Greek mythology. Hailed as a high point in the now-17-year-old franchise, God of War has already received a sequel on PlayStation consoles, though so far there is no word on if or when that game, Ragnarok, will reach PC as well.
"It all adds up to the most definitive version of one of the finest adventures the God of War has ever taken. If you’re thinking of diving into God of War, this is the best, most elegant way to play it. Opt for the PC version over the PlayStation 4 title – and enjoy a splendid ride.” —New York Daily News
