(#15) Writer-director Martin McDonagh's latest darkly comedic tale of misanthropy may not quite be his highest-scoring film to date—that would be Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, one point better—but, like the latter, it is likely headed to multiple Oscar nominations. Banshees is set on a remote Irish island in the 1920s where the long-standing friendship between two men (Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson) suddenly erupts into a bitter and violent feud. Both Farrell and Gleeson are favorites for acting nominations, as are co-stars Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan.
