25 Best Horror Films of the Past Decade
Looking for some scares this spooky season? Our list above is all treats, no tricks: It includes the 25 best-reviewed horror films of the 2010s, ranked by Metascore.
Julia Ducournau’s debut feature follows Garance Marillier’s Justine to veterinary school where she turns from innocent vegetarian to predatory cannibal. It’s a unique and grotesque take on the standard sexual awakening tale with a surprisingly poignant ending and a visual style that echoes its title. French horror is known to be extreme (Martyrs anyone?), so those with weaker stomachs might want to have a barf bag nearby, as the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles so politely supplied upon the film’s 2017 release.
“Your appetite for smart, savvy, sick-as-fuck horror will be sated.” —David Fear, Rolling Stone
