Drama series debuts April 10 on AMC and AMC+
Already renewed for a second season—and expected to complete its story at that point—AMC's timely crime drama comes from BAFTA-winning writer Peter Moffat (best known for the BBC's Criminal Justice, later remade by HBO as The Night Of) and also counts Michael B. Jordan among its producers. Chicago's criminal justice system is at the center of a story that finds a black high school athlete the target of both police and prosecutors bent on avenging the death of a cop during a drug bust gone wrong. The promising cast is led by Courtney B. Vance, Aunjanue Ellis, and Holt McCallany. The first few episodes debuted at SXSW last month, where the limited critical response seemed encouraging if short of enthusiastic.
