Anthology series debuts April 17 on Showtime
There's actually more than one First Lady in The First Lady, Showtime's new star-powered anthology series focusing on some of the key women who have filled that role in American history. Featured in this debut season are Michelle Obama (played by Viola Davis), Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), and Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer). The cast also includes Kiefer Sutherland (as Franklin D. Roosevelt), Aaron Eckhart (as Gerald Ford), O-T Fagbenle (as Barack Obama), Dakota Fanning, Judy Greer, Lily Rabe, Kathleen Garrett, Isiah Williams, and Rhys Wakefield. The series comes from author Aaron Cooley and is directed in its entirety by Susanne Bier (The Undoing). Potential future seasons would focus on additional residents of the East Wing.
