Horror series debuts April 9 on Prime Video. Produced by Lena Waithe and created by writer Little Marvin (making his television debut), the small screen's latest horror anthology will, much like American Horror Story, devote each season to a single, stand-alone story. But you can also expect plenty of Lovecraft Country comparisons, as Them similarly uses the horror genre to explore race relations in 1950s America. This debut season, subtitled Covenant, centers on an African-American family that moves from North Carolina to an all-white (and, apparently, haunted) L.A. neighborhood in 1953. Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, Alison Pill, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Ryan Kwanten head the season 1 cast, and Amazon has already ordered a second season.
