Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Nintendo (Super NES)
Nintendo, 1995
Nintendo's popular 16-bit console featured a number of games considered to be all-time classics, including Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and, of course, the platformer Super Mario World. But it was the latter's charming sequel/prequel, Yoshi's Island, that squeaked by for the title of highest-scoring game on the SNES.
