As the Melissa McCarthy-led Ghostbusters may attest, it's not easy being a reboot. Here's a look at 15 reboots, from the mere misfires to the flat-out flops (based on Metascores) that failed to match the acclaim or impact of their predecessors.

The most curious of reboots, 1998's Psycho was a shot-by-shot, color redo of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic. Critics and audiences alike didn't find the shower scene any scarier with red blood or Anne Heche.
