As the Melissa McCarthy-led Ghostbusters may attest, it's not easy being a reboot. Here's a look at 15 reboots, from the mere misfires to the flat-out flops (based on Metascores) that failed to match the acclaim or impact of their predecessors.

45 The Sum of All Fears

This 2002 reboot of the Jack Ryan franchise drew unfavorable comparisons to the Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford versions, mostly because the young Ben Affleck seemed too green. Chris Pine had better luck with 2014's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
