In 2000, he also created the Urban Landscape Training (ULT) program, accredited through the University of Illinois. ULT teaches landscaping skills and techniques to participants through both hands-on training and instruction. Moss is currently pursuing an advanced degree in natural resources and environmental sciences from the University of Illinois.
Throughout this time, Moss has continued to study education theory, horticultural practices and ecology. As a member of Midwest Youth Alive, a group of museum educators, and the Chicago Botanic Garden's Center for Teaching and Learning department, he remains involved with youth by teaching science, developing programs and mentoring.
