Virginia Mayo
Biography: Born Virginia Jones, she broke into movies in 1944 after working as a show girl. Starting in minor parts, she eventually became a leading lady to comedians (Bob Hope, Danny Kaye) in color extravaganzas. Although she displayed talent as an actress in straight dramatic roles, she was associated by audiences with her dizzy roles in earlier films, and her career never matured. In the '50s she appeared primarily in B-movies, then retired from the screen after 1967. She continued acting in stage productions (in stock and dinner theaters) until the '80s and also made occasional TV appearances. She was married to actor Michael O'Shea from 1947 until his death in 1973.
