Virginia Field

Biography: Born Margaret Field, she was educated in Paris and Vienna and, while still in her teens, she left school to go on stage. Field debuted onscreen in Primrose Path (1934) and made one or two other British films before moving to Hollywood in 1936; there she had a fairly busy career in minor leads and second leads, often playing the "other woman." She appeared in few films after 1951, though she made a half-hearted attempt to resume her career in the mid '70s that led only to an appearance on the TV series Adam-12. She married and divorced actor Paul Douglas and composer Howard Grode; since 1951 she has been married to actor Willard Parker.
