Veda Ann Borg

Biography: At first a New York model, Borg was signed by Paramount and debuted on film in Three Cheers for Love (1936). A car crash in 1939 interrupted her career, necessitating complete reconstructive surgery on her face. After that she became the archetypical hard-boiled blonde, playing fallen women, gangsters' molls, or the heroine's friend in numerous films of the '40s and '50s. She was married from 1946-57 to director Andrew McLaglen.
