Vanessa Brown
Biography: Smylla Brind was a child actress in American theater and made her film debut at age 16 as Tessa Brind in producer Val Lewton's Youth Runs Wild. As Vanessa Brown, she made numerous films into the early '50s, including Joseph L. Mankiewicz' The Late George Apley and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, William Wyler's The Heiress, and Vincente Minnelli's The Bad and the Beautiful. She retired to marry television director Mark Sandrich Jr., but occasionally appeared in films since the late '60s, including the Rosalind Russell comedy Rosie! and Stanley Kramer's Bless the Beasts and Children. Brown passed away in 1999.
