Tommy Rettig
Biography: A child star of American stage, radio, TV, and films, Rettig toured with Mary Martin in Annie Get Your Gun at age six and debuted onscreen at age nine. He appeared in 17 films in the early '50s. He was best known as the character Jeff in the TV series Lassie, a part he played from 1954-58. His last film was The Last Wagon (1956). As an adult he was unable to continue his career, so he retired with his wife to a farm in California. In 1972 he was arrested for growing marijuana and sentenced to two years of probation. In 1975 he was arrested for smuggling cocaine and sentenced to five years in prison. He got on with his life and eventually founded a successful computer software consulting firm.
