Taina Elg
Biography: A blond dancer/actress, onscreen from 1955, Taina Elg danced with the Sadler's Wells and Marquis de Cuevas ballet troupes. Major stardom was predicted for her after her appearance in Les Girls (1957) with Gene Kelly and Mitzi Gaynor, but her screen career evaporated during a period of turmoil at MGM, and after 1959 she worked only on TV and the stage. Elg worked with touring companies and was nominated for a Tony for her work in a New York revival of Where's Charlie. After a long period with no work she returned to Broadway in Strider, in which she played a trio of roles; this led to a continuing role on the TV soap opera One Life to Live.
