Ron Allen (I)

Biography: Ron Allen is a correspondent and news reporter for NBC News. He is regularly featured on The Today Show and NBC Nightly News.

Ron got his Bachelor and Master degrees in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He started as a Desk assistant in 1980 for a CBS station in New York, then moved to reporting at Hartford, and then reported and anchored with an ABC station at Boston. As a CBS News correspondent, he worked in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles during the OJ Simpson Trials. He also had several assignments outside of the US including Kosovo, Rwanda, South Africa and Somalia. In 1996, Allen joined NBC, and continues to report from all over the world.

Ron has been the recipient of several prestigious awards including the Robert F. Kennedy Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, and the UPI Award. As part of NBC News, Ron's team has won four Emmys.
