Robert Ellis Miller
Biography: A child actor in theater, Miller directed plays and television before helming his first theatrical feature in 1966, the sex farce Any Wednesday with Jane Fonda. Typed for such comedies with his later projects Sweet November and The Girl from Petrovka, Miller is most fondly remembered for The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, a sensitive adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel, and the offbeat comedy Reuben, Reuben. He has worked mostly in television since the mid '70s.
