Richard Lane
Biography: A broad-shouldered character actor, onscreen from the late '30s, he usually played tough, uniformed characters, sports announcers, or reporters. In all 13 of the Boston Blackie film series (1941-49) he played the irascible Inspector Farraday. Much of his career was spent as a radio-TV sports announcer.
