Nick Wilton

Biography: Nick read Drama & English at Kent University.

He made his professional acting debut in the 1980 revival of the Whitehall farce SIMPLE SPYMEN, directed by Brian Rix and later went on to play opposite Brian in the West End revival of DRY ROT. In 1982 he won the Perrier award at Edinburgh with his revue group, WRITERS INC. Other stage appearances include: CASH ON DELIVERY, THE SLOANE RANGER REVUE and NEWSREVUE in the West End; national tours of OKLAHOMA!, OUTSIDE EDGE, RUN FOR YOUR WIFE, BRIEF ENCOUNTER, and as Samuel Pepys in THE SECRET DIARIES; HABEAS CORPUS (Exeter, Bromley and Farnham), THE WOMAN WHO COOKED HER HUSBAND (Hornchurch), NEVILLE'S ISLAND (Watford), Rosencrantz in ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD (Salibury); Maniac in ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST (Southampton), a Middle & Far East tour of BEDROOM FARCE, and pantomimes at Plymouth, Edmonton, Salisbury, Hornchurch, the Shaw Theatre, London, and on Radio 4. At Christmas he will be returning to the

Nick's television series (as peformer and writer) include CARROTT'S LIB, HELLO MUM, FAST FORWARD, PLAYAWAY, NUMBER 73, and WYSIWYG; other writing credits include sketches for NOT THE NINE O'CLOCK NEWS, A KICK UP THE 80's, THREE OF A KIND, SPITTING IMAGE, SMITH & JONES, SMACK THE PONY and COMIC RELIEF. After reading a story for JACKANORY, Nick was invited back in 1991 to write and read his own story, "FISH TALE", for their 25th birthday celebrations, SILVER JACKANORY. He also appeared in the four improvised Jackanory programmes, PASS THE STORY.

Other TV appearances include 2 series of CITV's BIG MEG LITTLE MEG as Mr. Seagrove,THE BILL, NOAH'S ARK, THE 10%ERS, COLIN'S SANDWICH, the BBC films THE PLANT and GLAMOUR NIGHT, and in Paul Merton, Keith Allen, Jim Tavare and Jerry Sadowitz's television shows.
Nick regularly had a hand in SATURDAY SUPERSTORE (Mo the Crow), and a voice in GOING LIVE where he "did" the prizes for "Double Dare".
He also spent a couple of months shut in a cupboard "doing the bits between the programmes" for Children's ITV, and particularly enjoyed playing "Noddy" (on a drink-drive charge) opposite Lord Denning, for JIM'LL FIX IT.

On Radio Nick was in three series of SON OF CLICHÉ and IN ONE EAR, which both won Sony awards for best comedy.
