Maury Dexter
Biography: Dexter began producing and directing at 20th Century Fox in 1960 with the detective tale The High Powered Rifle and the western Walk Tall. He went on to make numerous low-budget genre films, including the science-fictioner The Day Mars Invaded Earth, the freak-filled thriller House of the Damned, and the beach musicals Surf Party and Wild on the Beach. At AIP in the late '60s he expanded his range to include the biker films Hell's Belles and The Mini-Skirt Mob, and Maryjane, a campy cautionary tale of cannabis.
