Matthew Johns
Biography:
Matthew "Matty" Johns is a former professional rugby league player who has made a mark for himself in television since his retirement due to a back injury in 2002. Before that, he had a prolific career, playing for his club, the Newcastle Knights, and also representing NSW and Australia before leaving to play club footy in England for Wigan. He returned in 2002 to play one year for NRL club the Cronulla Sharks before retiring.
Johns has a hosting role on the NRL Footy Show, and has made appearances in movies. He is best known as his Footy Show character Reg Reagan, a chauvinistic, brash, un-PC parody of stereotypical "Ocker" bush league players of the 1970s.
