Leiji Matsumoto

Biography: For 15 years, Leiji Matsumoto worked as a manga artist, penciling girl's manga before making a name of himself in the manga world. His manga, Otoko Oidon (I am Man) was published in 1972 and his career sky rocketed ever since. Leiji Matsumoto became well known for his huge manga hits, such as "Space Battleship Yamato," "Galaxy Express 999," "Space Pirate Captain Harlock," and many others which have been brought to the screen as TV series, OVAs, and feature films.
