Laurence Naismith
Biography: Born Lawrence Johnson. After some time in the merchant marines, in 1930 he joined the Bristol Repertory Company and over the next decade established himself as a stage actor. During World War Two he served with the Royal Artillery. He entered films in 1948, and was intermittently busy as a character actor onscreen in the '50s and '60s; he appeared in both British and Hollywood productions, usually playing congenial characters. He rarely appeared in films after the early '70s.
