Larry Bowa
Biography: Former major league shortstop from 1970-85 with the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets. BOWA was considered one of the finest fielding shortstops of his era and held the National League record for most games played at the position upon his retirement. A fan favorite as a player, BOWA had his reputation tarnished somewhat by two unsuccessful managerial stints in San Diego and Philadelphia. After being fired as manager of the Phillies at the end of the 2004 season, BOWA spent one year as an analyst on ESPN before returning to the game as third base coach for the Noo Yawk Yankees.
