Katrina Mathers

Biography: Katrina is a multi-skilled creative producer, writer and director who's worked with a large number of organisations including ABC TV Comedy, Arts & Entertainment where she trained in production and was on staff for many years; as well as Granada Productions, St Kilda Film Festival, Artist Services, Skybus TV (Immediacy), Cornerbox and Networks 9 & 10. Katrina established her own corporate entertainment production company in 1999, and more recently has set up a new animation, visual effects, media content and digital art studio in Melbourne.

A prolific and independent filmmaker, Katrina's made several award winning shorts including the Tropfest finalist film "The Referees" (director), short feature "Crazy Richard" (co writer/co director), short "Vernon" plasticine animations (producer/writer/animator), the popular "N for Nelly" (producer/director), and recently the Project Greenlight short "No Mail" (writer). Katrina has received development investment and travel grants from the AFC and Film Victoria; had an interactive animation project selected for participation at X|Media|Lab; a sitcom (co-writer) performed by the QTC as part of the Australian Sitcom Festival; she's taught acting and filmmaking for a number of organisations including Melbourne Uni; been on the selection panels for Melbourne Film Festival and AFI TV Grand Jury and been an invited guest speaker at many conferences and events.

Katrina also continues to work as an actor, regularly appearing in independent films and TV guest roles. Most widely she is known as creator and performer behind "Sandra Sultry" for "The Wedge" (Ch10), she also appears as the Nurse in Leah Whannell & James Wan's original short film version of "Saw".
