Joseph Kane
Biography: An editor in the mid '20s, Kane became a director in 1935, co-directig the serial Fighting Marines with B. Reeves Eason; he and Eason would also share duties on the '36 serial Darkest Africa. Over the next thirty years he would direct numerous films, mostly westerns: Kane guided such cowboy stars as John Wayne (The Lawless Nineties, The Lonely Trail), Gene Autry (Oh Susannah!, Springtime in the Rockies), and Roy Rogers (Under Western Stars, Billy the Kid Returns). In the '60s Kane also served as second-unit director on Beau Geste, Tobruk, and In Enemy Country.
